Dropsides for carpenters
What type of bodywork is used in carpentry?
Carpenters typically do not require a tipper. Instead, they use fixed platforms called dropsides, which are generally quite long. The dropside is often accompanied by a crane for loading and unloading. A carpenter uses a dropside to transport heavy, cumbersome equipment to the worksite. They must therefore be able to stow their load properly.
What can a JPM dropside do for a carpenter?
JPM offers three types of dropsides, but the aluminium dropside with a wood platform is the best for carpentry needs, which entail transporting heavy, long materials:
- Maximum payload
This dropside is lightweight: 276 kg while being 3970 mm long. - Sturdiness
The front panel is seam-welded to the dropside for extra strength. The side panel's box-section design ensures rigidity. - Lashing
The dropside is equipped with retractable lashing rings as standard. Objects can also be strapped onto the outer frame of the dropside.
What are the essential options for the dropside used by a carpenter?
You don't need a lot of options to customize a JPM dropside for carpentry:
- Toolbox
Located between the cab and the dropside, the toolbox, usually made of lightweight aluminium, provides safe storage. This box can be fitted with one or more shelves, mats, and burglar-proof doors. - Rear plank rack
Thanks to its rear posts, the JPM dropside can be fitted with a rear plank rack simply by inserting the rack and bolting it on. The rack allows long objects to be transported. Its height is easily adjustable, and it can carry a load of up to 300 kg. - Strap storage box
Attached underneath the dropside, it stores the straps and allows them to be wound neatly using the built-in crank handle. - Step and handle
Mounted on the side and/or rear panels, the step provides easy access to the dropside. A handle attached to the cab guard or plank rack completes this equipment.
What services does JPM offer its users?
Once the trucks have been fitted out, JPM keeps bodywork in good shape with a network of local bodybuilders. They handle option fitting, servicing, and repairs. Each body therefore has full support throughout its entire service life.
What's more, JPM offers a third year of warranty free of charge if you register the body's serial number on the JPM website.
Last but not least, JPM's online store enables users to purchase dropside options and spare parts directly. A selection tool makes parts easy to find.
Thanks to its sturdiness and customizability, the aluminium dropside with a wood platform is an essential work tool for carpenters.
