The removable tipper, also known as an Ampliroll tipper, removable container or hooklift container, can be used like a traditional tipper, i.e. for transport and tipping but it stands out from the latter because it can be deposited on the ground.

The removable tipper is used with a utility vehicle (GVWR 3.5 tonnes) fitted with a hydraulic arm and does not require a specific licence. The arm is used to mount the container on the truck or conversely to place it on the ground. This is possible due to the cradle, most often 1060 mm wide, located under the removable tipper. If fact this has a gripping hook at the front allowing the arm to pick up the container. The rollers at the rear enable it to be moved without damaging the ground and the bodywork. To use it for rear tipping, it is just necessary to close the hooks (this locks the removable tipper on the chassis of the truck) and to lift it with the arm. At the rear the universal door is used with 2 leaves or with standard manual unhooking.

Aluminium removable tippers are as strong as those in steel, and allow a payload increase of more than 250 kg whilst also being corrosion-resistant. The internal dimensions for an Ampliroll tipper on a 3.5 tonne truck are usually 3160 mm x 2000 mm with 350 mm sideboards. The height may be adjusted by adding extensions.
